Type 2 - Name only (No Film Title, No Salutation)
- No MADE/Made or PRINTED/Printed
- MADE/Made
Actor and Actress cards of 'name only' type (with no film name and no Salutation) started in the 1920s and ran to the end of the Exhibits, though not necessarily continuously. The 4-in-1 Type 4 cards could be considered a subset of the Type 2, but it made sense not to include them here since the 4-in-1 cards are distinct in style and did run continuously for a short period of time during the 1930s. While the Type 2 cards span a long period, these are almost exclusively 'name only' type cards allows which we can more effectively break into sub-types.
The 2-T-E Types almost certainly came out in the late 1920s with a style similar to some of the other Type 1 cards (with movie titles). They may actually have come out as the same 'set' or on the same sheet as some of the others, but this cannot be said for certain. Similarly for some of the earlier release Type 2 cards that appear very similar to, and from the same time period as, some of the Type 1 cards. These also could be from the same set/sheet but lacking evidence, it makes more sense to leverage similar characteristics to best organize a list of what one has or needs.
Except for a couple of cases, I believe the cards that were of the same lettering font/style "Made/MADE/Printed/PRINTED in USA" were from the same set, whether or not they contained a Salutation. Again, we can't confirm this either way for all cases, so group these as a sub-type of Type 2 cards keeps the classification consistent.
